Pvt. Norbert L. Laske joined Company G, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman on September 18, 1944 from the 38th Replacement Battalion when Company G was near Remereville, just east of Nancy, France. He was wounded in action on November 20, 1944, near Grostenquin, which is slightly north and about half way between Metz and Sarreguemines, France. He returned to duty with Company G on May 1, 1945 when the unit was in Hamelin, Germany.
In 2016 Pvt. Laske's Grandson, along with his wife and 2 children, visited some of the places in France where his grandfather traveled and was wounded during the war. Thanks to Pvt. Norbert Laske's daughter, Marleen Madigan, for this picture.
