Frank A Marriott, son of Harry Henry and Augusta (Maske) Marriott, was born September 1, 1916 in Jackson, Michigan. He married Evelyn Cortright January 22, 1941 and the couple had a son, Frank Jr. He was inducted into the Army October 4, 1943 and joined Company L, 137th Infantry Regiment August 11, 1944 as an Ammunition Handler from the 48th Replacement Battalion when the unit was in the vicinity of Mortain, France. Pfc Frank A Marriott was killed by shell blast fragments October 1, 1944 in the vicinity of the Gremecey Forest, France and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge the day he died. He is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Jackson, Michigan.
