James Thomas Pigeon, son of Frederick Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Angelo) Pigeon, was born June 23, 1921 in Lowell Massachusetts. He registered for the draft February 16, 1942. At the time he was working at United Elastic Corporation in Lowell. He was inducted into the Army September 14, 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. He joined Company B, 137th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 16, 1944 and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge October 1, 1944. Pfc James T Pigeon was killed in action November 13, 1944 by an artillery blast just west of Morhange, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint-Avold, France.
