James Enzer Pullon, son of Arville Denver and Finnie Lou "Virgie" (Turner) Pullon, was born April 4, 1925 in Benhams, Virginia. He registered for the draft April 5, 1943. At the time he was living in Bristol, Virginia. He was inducted into the Army July 31, 1943 at Abington, Virginia. He was a member of Company E, 137th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 8, 1944. Pvt James E Pullon was killed in action July 11, 1944 during the battle for St Lo, France and was posthumously awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 2, 1944. He is buried at Booher's Chapel Cemetery, Scott County, Virginia.
