Searle Noble Redfield, son of George and Arabella (Caywood) Redfield, was born June 13, 1918 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He married Elizabeth Lyster on July 25, 1941 and the couple had one child, a daughter Dale Carol. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940, and was inducted into the Army August 12, 1943 at Camden, New Jersey. He joined Company A, 137th Infantry Regiment from the 86th Replacement Battalion July 20, 1944 and was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 1, 1944. Pfc Searle N Redfield was killed in action in the vicinity of Lorey south of Nancy, France, just east of the Moselle River. He is buried at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, New Jersey.
