137th Infantry Regiment - Medical Detachment

Joseph Edwin Snodgrass, son of Lan and Mertie (Crisp) Snodgrass, was born September 8, 1921 in Melvin, Texas. He married Lucy Bee Bogart. He was inducted into the Army January 25, 1943 in Sacramento, California. He joined the Medical Detachment, 137th Infantry Regiment October 13, 1944 from the 38th Replacement Battalion and was promoted to Private First Class November 30, 1944. He was wounded in action by artillery shell fragments December 13, 1944. Pfc Joseph E Snodgrass was killed in action March 9, 1945 in the vicinity of Rheinberg, Germany, He is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
