Julian Wesley Thomas, Jr, the adopted son of Samuel and Josephine (Beverly) Thomas, was born May 15, 1921 in Waresboro, Georgia. He registered for the draft February 16, 1942. At that time he was living in Jacksonville, Florida and working at Florida Glass Company. He was inducted into the Army the following day, February 17, 1942, at Jacksonville. He served as a Rifleman in Company E, 137th Infantry Regiment. Pfc Julian W Thomas, Jr was killed in action July 21, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Rehobeth Cemetery, Pierce County, Georgia.
