John Nelson Tuvey, son of James Arthur and Anna Victoria (Fallt) Tuvey, was born October 6, 1921 in Taylor Falls, Minnesota. He registered for the draft February 15, 1942. At that time he was working for Swift and Company in St Paul, Minnesota. He was a member of Company G, 137th Infantry Regiment. During the battle for St Lo, France, he suffered serious gunshot wounds to the chest and leg on July 16 and died from his wounds 2 days later, July 18, 1944. Sgt John N Tuvey is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France and memorialized at Kahbakong Cemetery, Taylor Falls, Minnesota.
