Second Lieutenant Martin H. Huschka, an artillery forward observer, directed highly effective artillery fire on enemy weapons and infantry, although he was subjected to enemy small arms, 20mm antiaircraft and artillery fire.  Lt. Huschka's alertness, quick decisions and disregard for personal safety were instrumental in disrupting the enemy counter-attack and reflect high credit upon his character as an officer.  Entered military service from Kansas.
