Floyd William Hanson, son of Charles William and Minnie Clara Eva (Hileman) Hanson, was born April 20, 1915 in Clifton, Kansas. He married Verona Mae Taylor July 2, 1941. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940, enlisted in the Army April 8, 1941, and served in Company B, 320th Infantry Regiment. He landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. Pfc Floyd W Hanson was killed in action by a shell blast in the vicinity of St Lo, France July 18, 1944. He is buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas.
