 320th Infantry Regiment - Company C

Norbert Kostanski, son of Walter and Josephine Kostanski, was born December 16, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942 and was inducted into the Army March 19, 1943. He joined Company C, 320th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 41st Replacement Battalion July 13, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of St Lo, France. Pvt Norbert Kostanski was killed in action August 13, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France and was posthumously awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 20, 1944. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.
