Edward Arthur Kurt was born July 13, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and entered service in 1943. He served as a Squad Leader in Company L, 320th Infantry Regiment and was promoted to Private First Class on August 26, 1944, to Sergeant October 6, 1944, and to Staff Sergeant November 22, 1944. S/Sgt Edward A Kurt was initially reported missing November 22, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action in the vicinity of Grening, France on that date. He is buried at Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, New York.
