Milo Wilbur Mathison, son of Hans Martin and Marit "Mary" (Elshang) Mathison, was born September 25, 1915 in Ramona, South Dakota. He married Anna Rose Casanova in 1942 and the couple had a daughter, Marlene Marie. He was inducted into the Army February 11, 1942, served in Company E, 320th Infantry Regiment and in 1943 he was awarded the American Campaign Service Medal for service in Canada. He landed at Omaha Beach Normandy France, July 6, 1944. S/Sgt Milo W Mathison was wounded in action July 11, 1944 just north of St Lo, France and died of his wounds July 19, 1944. He is buried at Graceland Cemetery, Madison, South Dakota.
