Company  I -  320th Infantry Regiment

Davis Richard McDonald, son of William Richard and Myrtle (Mitchell) McDonald, was born July 1, 1925 in Pickford, Michigan. He was inducted into the Army April 11, 1944 and joined Company I, 320th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 14th Replacement Battalion December 24, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Metz, France. He was promoted to Private First Class February 1, 1945. Pfc Davis R McDonald was killed in action east of the Elbe River in the vicinity of Barby, Germany on April 18, 1945. He is buried at Cottle Cemetery, Marquette Township, Michigan.
