Joseph John Naperalski, son of Stanley Joseph and Frances Elizabeth (Flis) Naperalski, was born February 12, 1911 in Traverse City, Michigan. He married Edith Agatha Karns November 25, 1937 and the couple had 2 children, a daughter Jeanne and son Gerald. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was working at Burwood Products Company in Traverse City. He was inducted into the Army April 5, 1944 and joined Company G, 320th Infantry Regiment as a Rifleman from the 38th Replacement Battalion November 13, 1944 when the unit was in the vicinity of Vaxy, France. Pvt Joseph J Naperalski was reported missing November 21 and was confirmed killed in action November 27, 1944 in the vicinity of Grening, France. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City, Michigan.
