Company I - 320th Infantry Regiment

Edward Taylor Overcash, son of John Taylor and Ruth (Erickson) Overcash, was born November 3, 1920 in Kansas. He was inducted into the Army August 12, 1942. He was an Automatic Rifleman in Company I, 320th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. He was wounded in action by shell fragments July 23 in the vicinity of St Lo, France and died of his wounds July 25, 1944. He was posthumously awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 12, 1944. Pfc Edward T Overcash is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
