Company K - 320th Infantry Regiment

Ivan Eugene Overstreet, son of Estel Claude and Minerva Asberene (Kennedy) Overstreet, was born October 26, 1922 in Deer Lodge, Tennessee. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942. At the time he was living in Davidson, Tennessee and working at Fentress Coal and Coke Company in Wilder, Tennessee. He was inducted into the Army January 14, 1943 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a Rifleman in Company K, 320th Infantry Regiment and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 6, 1944. Pvt Ivan E Overstreet was reported missing July 12, 1944 and was later confirmed killed in action July 24, 1944 in the vicinity of St Lo, France. He is buried at Clarkrange Cemetery, Clarkrange, Tennessee.
