Jessie Lee Owen, son of Walter Lee and Nancy Ellen (Maness) Owen, was born July 23, 1922 in Ryan, Oklahoma. He and his wife Frances Edith Drennan had a daughter, Clara Lorita. He registered for the draft June 29, 1942, was inducted into the Army in January 1943, served as a Rifleman in Company L, 320th Infantry Regiment, and landed at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France July 6, 1944. Pvt Jessie L Owen was killed in action August 1, 1944 in the vicinity of Guilbervillle, France. He is buried at Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville sur Mer, France.
