Norman William Peters (born Pietroiacovo), son of Nunzio and Angiolina Carmela (Massiello) Pietroiacovo, was born March 11, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio. He married Vanda Ann Camposo August 24, 1940 and the couple had a son, Norman William Peters born January 22, 1942. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was working at W Bingham Company in Cleveland. He was inducted into the Army March 17, 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He joined Company I, 320th Infantry Regiment December 24, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Norman W Peters was reported missing and was later confirmed killed in action January 13, 1945 south of Bastogne, Belgium.
