Company B - 320th Infantry Regiment

Hugh Rougemont, son of Albert Franklin and Kate (Lindsay) Rougemont, was born July 1, 1913 in Dover, Tennessee. He married Mary Allie Stimpson in 1941 and the couple had 2 daughters, Brenda and Mary. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940 and was inducted into the Army December 30, 1943 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He joined Company B, 320th Infantry Regiment from the 48th Replacement Battalion August 9, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 20, 1944. Pvt Hugh Rougemont was reported missing September 25 and was later confirmed killed in action October 2, 1944 in the vicinity of Gremecey, France. He is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, Saint Avold, France.
