Muriel Raymond Ruby, son of Albert and Esta May (Burchett) Ruby, was born March 9, 1921 in Lucasville, Ohio. He married Catheryn Rigley October 21, 1941 and the couple had 2 daughters, Bonnie Jean and Rovena. He registered for the draft February 14, 1942. At the time he was living in Columbus, Ohio and working at the Federal Glass Company. He joined Company I, 320th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion October 1, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Muriel R Ruby was originally reported missing. It was later confirmed that he had been killed in action by enemy artillery shell fragments November 8, 1944 in the vicinity of Foret De Chateau Salins, France. He is buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Hamm, Luxembourg.
