Arthur Anthony Severin, son of Joseph Frank and Helen (Koss) Severin, was born in Detroit, Michigan February 24, 1923. He registered for the draft June 30, 1942, entered the Army in August 1943 and served as an Automatic Rifleman in Company G, 320th Infantry Regiment. He departed for the ETO in May 1944 and billeted at Topsham Barracks, near Exeter England until crossing the English Channel and landing at Omaha Beach, Normandy France on July 6, 1944. He was awarded the Expert Infantryman Badge July 31, 1944 and posthumously awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge August 20, 1944. Pfc Arthur A Severin was killed in action by artillery shell fragments August 9, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit Michigan.
