Company L - 320th Infantry Regiment

Percy Floyd Stevens, son of Darwin Charles and Millie (Wilson) Stevens, was born December 24, 1914 in Waterloo, Iowa. He married Evelyn Lucile Grover November 24, 1934 and the couple had 4 children; Darwin, Donald, David, and Doreen. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At the time he was working at Rath Packing in Waterloo. He was inducted into the Army March 16, 1944 at Camp Dodge Herrold, Iowa and joined Company L, 320th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion September 22, 1944. Pvt Percy F Stevens was killed in action by artillery shell fragments September 29, 1944 in the vicinity of the Foret de Gremecey, northeast of Nancy, France. He is buried at Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.
