Edward Earl Stump was born October 12, 1924 in Easton, Ohio. He registered for the draft December 23, 1942, was inducted into the Army April 1, 1943 at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio, and served as a Messenger in Company K, 320th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to Private First Class July 1, 1944. He was wounded in action by artillery shrapnel July 14 during the battle for St Lo, France and died of his wounds 3 days later July 17, 1944. Pfc Edward E Stump is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
