Chester James Wilson, son of Thomas Ford and Anna (Glaub) Wilson, was born September 16, 1914 in Blooming Grove, Indiana. He married Mable Faye Personette November 25, 1936 and the couple had one child, a daughter, Patricia Joan Wilson, born September 10, 1937. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At that time he was living in Connersville, Indiana and working at Stant's Machine Shop in Connersville. He was inducted into the Army March 2, 1944 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He joined Company L, 320th Infantry Regiment from the 38th Replacement Battalion on October 1, 1944 and served as a Rifleman. Pvt Chester J Wilson was killed in action by an artillery blast in the vicinity of the Foret de Gremecey near Nancy, France on October 10, 1944. He is buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville, Indiana.
