Elmer Harold Johnson, son of Axel and Augusta Johnson, was born February 5, 1915 in Wisconsin. He was a Light Mortar Crewman in the 35th Reconnaissance Troop. Pvt Elmer H Johnson was killed in action August 11, 1944 by artillery shell fragments in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is buried at Bethesda Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sand Lake, Wisconsin.
