Milo Andrew Meldrum, son of Andrew and Elizabeth Meldrum, was born January 16, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. He registered for the draft July 1, 1941 when he was 21 years old, living in New Baltimore, Michigan and working as a gas station attendant. He was inducted into the Army November 25, 1941 at Fort Custer, Michigan. He was a truck driver in the 35th Reconnaissance Troop and landed at Omaha Beach, Normandy France July 7, 1944. T/5 Milo A Meldrum was killed in action August 11, 1944 in the vicinity of Mortain, France. He is buried at Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.
