Sgt. Cvengros was the 3rd Baseman for the Camp Davis baseball team (1943)

This photo appeared in the Camp Davis newspaper. The caption reads "A .380 batter is always welcome in the Brigade lineup. And third baseman George Cvengros in not wearing out that welcome. The Pennsylvanian has hit safely eight times in 21 tries to pace the AA attack. He'll try to improve that mark in weekend contests with Fort Bragg and Camp Lejeune away from home."

Sgt. George E. Cvengros was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while serving with the 134th Infantry Regiment, Company F. The Cvengros family has served through WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Cvengros passed away in 1985.
