T/Sgt. Fredrick T. Mooers

134th Infantry Regiment - Company I

Fredrick Thomas Mooers, son of Thomas Fredrick and Mary Leora (Bennett) Mooers, was born April 13, 1916 in Svensen, Oregon. He registered for the draft October 16, 1940. At that time he was working at the Columbia River Salmon Company in Astoria, Oregon. According to his draft record he was 6’ 1 3/8” tall, weighing 172 pounds with blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. He married Barbara Mae Fitch on November 29, 1941. He was inducted into the Army April 11, 1942 at Portland Oregon. His son, Gary Jim Mooers, was born March 6, 1944.

Fredrick T Mooers served in Company I, 134th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to S/Sgt July 24, 1944 and again promoted to T/Sgt on August 9, 1944. He was Killed in Action on September 18, 1944 in the vicinity of Nancy, France. T/Sgt Fredrick T Mooers is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery in Saint Avold, France.
