Examples include the Silver and Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman and Medical Badges, and the Good Conduct Medal. They usually contain a description of the action for which the medal was awarded. They can also pertain to administrative issues like organizational changes and command assignments.
This website currently has General Orders issued by the 35th Infantry Division, the 134th, 137th and 320th Infantry Regiments, the 9th, 12th, 41st, 91st and 106th Evacuation Hospitals, III, XII, and XVI Corps, and U.S. Third Army.
