John Colthart (1870 - 19??) of Boghouse, Lanark County, Scotland and the U.S.A. Play the music for this webpage! John Colthart was born 1870 in Boghouse, Lanark County, Scotland. Around 1899 he married Margaret Dale (1877-??) and they had three children: Thomas (1899), William and Marion. Sometime between 1918 and 1926 the family, with the exception of the eldest son Thomas, immigrated to the U.S.A.
The Children of John Colthart and Margaret Dale Thomas Colthart (1899-1972) was born in Lesmahagow. He married Jeannie Bryson (1904-1947) in Calderhead Presbyterian Church in Shotts in 1926. Thomas and Jeannie had three children: John (1928), Mary (1932) and Margaret (1936). The family remained in Scotland when Thomas's parents and siblings immigrated to the U.S.A. Thomas died in New Zealand in 1972.
William Colthart was born in Scotland and immigrated to the U.S.A. with his parents. He married Margaret ?? after he arrived in the U.S.A. and they had at least two children: Thomas and John. John currently lives in New Jersey. Marion Colthart was born in Scotland and immigrated to the U.S.A. with her parents.
